The best time to watch indigenous birds is from the month of June to August. If you have a fascination for watching the migratory birds, the best time to visit is between November and February.

However you can pick up souvenirs from the shops in the small town.In Kumarakom, you will find handcrafted gift items typical of the state of Kerala.
